Inside Med OClock: Creating a User and Adding Reminders

Now that you’ve installed the application, let’s go through the steps for creating and adding a new user. Whether you purchased the single-user edition or the multiple user one, you have to do this so that you can set-up reminder notifications.

Once you click “My Med OClock” you will see a button at the top-right that says “Add.” You can click on it to create a user and add a medication reminder to an existing user.

Creating or Adding a User

First, to create a new user, you must click on “Add User.” You will then be asked to fill out the following fields of information:

  • IMG_1370Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Weight
  • Height
  • Allergies

You must fill out all the fields, with the exception of the allergies section, to be able to save and add a user to your application. Don’t forget to click on “Save” to keep this person’s profile in your Med OClock application.

That’s it! You’ve now created your first user profile in Med OClock!

Medication List

Creating or Adding Medication to Your List

Now, let’s move on to the steps needed to add medications to your list and setting up reminders for each medication. Start by clicking in the user name of the person for which you want to add a reminder. Then, click on “Add medication.” For there, you will have two options:

1) You can select one of the existing medication options. These are commonly used medication, but if you can’t find your in the list, you have the option of adding your own.

2) Add your own medication if it’s not already in the list. You could also use this feature for other daily reminders such as “drink a glass of water.”

From both options, once you have selected the appropriate medicine or added your own, you will need to confirm the following information:

  • IMG_1373Time
  • Before/after meals
  • mg/UI
  • Dosage

Your medication list is now set-up and you will be getting automatic reminders as you indicate.

You’re now all set-up with Med OClock. Never forget to take a pill again! If you have questions about our pill reminder app, or stories to share, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: What’s in Med OClock?

In the last few years, we’ve worked hard to add more features and to make sure Med OClock is the best and only pill reminder app you’ll ever need. Here’s an updated version of what you can find in our mobile app (as of May 2015).

image2You’ve downloaded the application, and you’re ready to get started? Just before we get into more details, let’s have a quick look at the main sections of our pill reminder app and the functions available through Med OClock.

1) My Med Clock

This is the starting point where you can add users, lists of medication and precise pill reminders for each user. You can choose the time at which you would like to get a notification, the dosage of the medication to be taken as well as others specific notes and features. For example, you can indicate if the medicine should be taken before or after food. From My Med Clock, you can also quickly access the Med Appointments and Med Notes sections without returning to the homepage of the pill reminder app.

NEW: You can now add profile photos to know at a glance whose profile belong to which person if you manage many users.

medcard2) Med Appointments

Never miss a doctor’s appointment anymore! In this section, you can add all your appointments and add notes as reminders for important questions you need to ask your doctor. For example, a request for a prescription renewal or a question about a new treatment.

NEW: Now, even if you forgot to bring your health card with you, as long as you have your phone, you can show photos of your medical IDs to your healthcare provider.  A great thing to have if you tend to forget things, or for an emergency.

3) Med List

This section regroups the list of medication for each user, and it also allows you to send the full list to a person by email. Your doctor, dentist, pharmacist or another family member can then receive your medication list and be made aware of any changes in an instant. All this can be done with a few simple clicks straight from Med OClock!

NEW: You can do so much more than add pill reminders to Med OClcok. Add other important health habits like taking a multivitamin, going for a walk or taking a deep breath for a balanced day.

4) Med Notes

This is a section where you can add any notes. They can be questions in relation to your medication intake or even simple reminders such as other items to buy next time you go to the pharmacy.

image55) Med Contacts

Keep all your medical contacts in one place in this section. You can include the person’s name, phone number, address and email address in one place. This can be your doctor, a person to reach out to in case of emergency or a specialist.

6) Emergency Contacts

This is the button that calls your emergency contact directly, in case of emergency. No need to browse through your phone’s contact list anymore. You can also indicate one person as your contact in the case of emergency by click the “Emergency” button. This person will automatically be added as your emergency contact, and you will be able to reach that person with one click.

We hope you’re enjoying using Med OClock and its new features. Don’t forget to write a review for us if you like it. You can even add a reminder for that!
